Thanksgiving Envelopes are in your mailbox.

Mistletoe Market: Nov. 8th

  • Items are needed for the silent auction. There are letters to businesses are in the Narthex. Please talk to Gary and Jane for more information.
  • Upcoming working bee Wednesdays:

Oct. 15th – assembling Innkeeper (Santa) keys, supplies will be provided

Oct. 21st – assembling Cookies in a Jar (there is a supply sign-up sheet in the Narthex)

We need these items by the 20th so we can shop for items needed.

Oct. 29thputting baskets together (if you have unused, new re-gifting items that you would like to donate, we need them by the 29th)

  • Cookie trays are available in the Narthex, for you to put your baking on.
  • There is a sign-up sheet for when and where you can help during Mistletoe Market.

Monday Afternoon Bible Study: will begin on Monday, October 20 from 1pm-3pm. This is a 5-week study. We will be doing Max Lucado’s, “John 3:16”.

There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for those willing to help with Sunday School and/or the Nursery.

Christmas Eve Choir: Amy Porter will be the musician for St. Columba’s Christmas Eve service this year. Amy is inviting you to be a part of a choir for the service, with a simple anthem based on Silent Night. If you wish to be a part of the choir, please let the office know. Music will be handed out on September 28th after worship with a brief practice. Further practices will take place after worship on October 12 & 19, November 30 and December 21, and a warm-up on Christmas Eve at 6:15 p.m.

Don’t forget to sign up to provide a special treat for a Birthday Sunday!

Soup: There are many kinds of soup available for purchase. They are in 2 cup containers in the church freezer and are $5 each. There is also stew for $7. Please contact the office to make arrangements for pickup and payment.

Sign up for a Tour

E-Transfer/PAR Cards: For those that use PAR or send e-transfers, there are cards at the back of the sanctuary for you to place in the offering plate during worship.

Prayer Requests: If you would like a prayer included in the Prayers of the People during worship, please add it to the book at the back of the sanctuary before the service begins. If it is a prayer for someone other than yourself, please seek permission before it is spoken out loud. We respect people’s privacy, especially with our services being live streamed. You are asked to print legibly so your request can be easily read.

For emergencies: In the upstairs bathroom, there is 81mg aspirin for heart issues, scotch mints and lifesavers (both are gluten free) for low blood sugar.

Gleaners Food Bank: There is a grocery cart in the narthex for you to bring your food donations. So far we have donated $1,210 and 119 lbs of food.

Prayer Shawls and Quilts for Cancer:

Prayer Shawls are at the back of the sanctuary and can be taken anytime for people who need to know they are loved when they are struggling. You may also contribute shawls or yarn to the ministry. Convener: Phyllis MacKenzie.

Quilts for Cancer meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10:30am-3pm. All are welcome to help with assembling quilts that are then given to people making the journey through cancer and treatment. Convener: Jane Cox.

Prayers of the People – add prayer requests to the book outside of the sanctuary

Email prayer group – Rev. Jenn

Telephone Prayer Chain – call the office

Blessing Bowl – Rev. Jenn: Place your prayer in the bowl on the table in the narthex. Requests remain confidential, for the Minister’s eyes only.

Private prayer with the Minister – Rev. Jenn will pray with you in the privacy of her office.

Monthly Prayer and Praise Service – 4th Sunday of every month at 7pm
