WELCOME & THANK YOU – to The Reverend Rebekah Mitchell for leading us in Worship and giving us the opportunity to celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.

MEALS ON WHEELS – Please remember our commitment to deliver meals for Community Care in April. Any new volunteers would be most welcome. Roughly 11/2 hours of your time would be required on a Thursday morning in October. If you wish to help, please contact Marion G or sign the schedule posted in the Narthex.

ANNUAL CHURCH YARD CLEANUP – will take place Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 AM to Noon. Bring your energy, rakes, and gardening tools to help with spring clean-up. “Many hands make light work”.

YARD SALE – the Finance and Maintenance Team is having their annual yard sale on Saturday, June 10th, 2017.

While doing your spring cleaning, please save a bit for us! Watch for more details later.

MISTLETOE MARKET WORK BEES will be starting on Monday, March 20th at 1 PM in MacLean Hall. Bring your ideas and projects you are working on and we will start planning what we can do to make this year’s Mistletoe Market a success. All are welcome.

GARDEN OF EATIN’
Spring is officially here, which means it’s time to plan for another year of the Garden of Eatin’. If you would like to have a garden plot this year, please contact the church office, or Steve V. (steve.vandehoef@gmail.com;  by April 8.

MEET THE HAMADA FAMILY – Eastminster Church, April 2, St. Columba members are invited to join the Eastminster congregation for coffee immediately after morning worship to meet the Hamada Family who will visit us, to express their appreciation to everyone about the support they have received since their arrival in Canada last December 28th.

ONCE AGAIN WE WELCOME The Reverend Ted Thompson this morning and thank him for leading us in Worship.

THE PRESBYTERY OF KINGSTON will be welcoming the 143RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY JUNE 4-7 and needs your help! Please look at the poster found on the Bulletin Board in the Narthex (and also in this week’s Bulletin) and consider assisting with the welcome. Help is especially required for snacks and creation of a banner. Please speak to Clerk of Session, Jane Cox or contact the office if you are able to help.

  • help pick up commissioners at Kingston airport, bus and train stations (Saturday and Sunday
  • join a massed choir for opening worship (Sunday evening)
  • elders to serve Communion during opening worship (Sunday evening)
  • a team to ‘guide’ commissioners at Queens on their first day (Monday)

Sessions are being asked to consider co-ordinating …

  1. a) provision of snacks for refreshment breaks Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday
  2. b) creation of a congregational banner (2’X4’) to be stitched with others from the presbytery and placed along the Moderator & Clerks’ table
  3. c) provision of communion sets for Sunday’s opening worship
  4. d) welcoming early arrivals for Sunday morning worship

This form will be returned to Presbytery Clerk by your Minister, March 20th

ANNOUNCEMENTS

MEDICAL LEAVE… Rev. Jennifer will be on medical leave until April 15th, with an anticipated return to the pulpit on Easter Sunday, April 16th. The Rev. Dr. Morley Mitchell has been appointed as Interim Moderator for this time. If you have need of pastoral support please call the church office, Jane Cox, Clerk of Session (968-6529) or Dr. Mitchell (966-6834). Rev. Jennifer’s return to active ministry will be gradual as of her return to the pulpit. Please pray for healing to continue and strength to return as she takes this time to rest and allow for a full recovery. Pray especially for her voice to be restored. Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support.

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS can be dropped off at the church on an ongoing basis. The labels turned in are very much appreciated by The Christian High School. This year they are working towards purchasing lamination material. Please speak to Joyce S if you would like to give to this very important mission outreach.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER SERVICE will be held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 516 Victoria Avenue, Belleville on Friday March 3rd at 2:00 PM. The Service was written by the women of the Philippines and is entitled “Am I Being Fair to You?”
