WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HYMN? During our Thanksgiving Sunday service on Oct. 9th we will be singing some of the hymns that have helped to shape us in our faith. You are invited to submit your favourite from the Book of Praise with a note about why you are thankful for that hymn. Forms are available in the narthex. Today is your last chance to submit your request! We look forward to singing your special hymns with you!
MISTLETOE MARKET – Work Bees will meet every Monday at 1:00 PM until “Mistletoe Market” on November 12th. It takes all of us as a congregation to make this annual event a success.
KNUTTS ABOUT KNITTING! – Do you knit or crochet? Bring your needles and yarn to the church and enjoy some time with friends as you work on your project! There may be someone who can help you out with a tricky pattern, or you may be able to help someone else. No matter your level of experience, this is a great way to build friendships and get some work done on your knitting! Knutts about Knitting will begin on October 11th at 1:30 p.m. in the Jack Burke Room, and meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. A freewill offering basket will be at the door if you would like to help with the repayment of the loan to update the Jack Burke Room.
MONTHLY MID-WEEK COMMUNION – Starting October 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the Jack Burke Room, Rev. Jennifer will be offering a monthly communion service on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Please come to receive the sacrament, pray and hear God’ Word in a less formal setting. The beautiful communion vessels have been hand crafted by Corey Del Zotto.
MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY begins on October 17th through until November 28th (exception is we will not meet on October 31st). The study will be at 7:30 PM each week in the Activity Room downstairs. This 6 week study is based on Philip Yancey’s Book “Prayer – Does it Make Any Difference”. All are welcome.
MEALS ON WHEELS – Please remember our commitment to deliver meals for Community Care in October. Any new volunteers would be most welcome as our regular volunteers are dealing with health issues and are therefore unavailable. Roughly 1 1/2 hours of your time would be required on a Thursday morning in October. If you wish to help, please contact Marion G or sign the schedule in the Narthex.
BAGS FOR THE “OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD” SHOE BOXES – are for sale at a cost of $1.00 each through the Mistletoe Market. Your support for each of these functions is greatly appreciated.
ATTENTION ALL MEN – Are you interested in starting up a Men’s Breakfast once again? If so, sign the sheet in the Narthex and speak to Larry M for further details.
PRESBYTERIAN PRAYER PARTNERSHIP: SUNDAY OCTOBER 2ND. We pray for campus ministries’ chaplains and volunteers and the congregations that support these ministries that show God’s love and care to young adults facing many stresses and challenges.
