INVITATION TO COMMUNION… You and your family are invited to renew your relationship with Christ and His Church in a celebration of THE LORD’s SUPPER on the 1st Sunday of Lent, February 18th, 2018.

PRAYER POWER… A praying church is a living growing church. The weekly prayer group will meet in the Jack Burke Room. Come as you are, a loved child of God who is called to commune with God and with others, through the power, and the comfort, of prayer. All are welcome. THE NEXT PRAYER GROUP WILL MEET ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH at 9:30 AM

IT IS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN – REPORTS ARE REQUIRED FOR 2017 ANNUAL MEETING – You can email your reports to the office at stcolumbabelleville@gmail.com or place a hard copy (printed) in the mailbox outside the secretary’s office. ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING TO TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 25TH FOLLOWING WORSHIP SERVICE AND LIGHT LUNCH.

LENT STUDY… You are invited to join a discussion group for the season of Lent, Tuesdays, February 13 – March 20 at 1:30p.m. We will be discussing the Five ‘Sola’ (Alone) Statements of the Reformation: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone, Christ Alone, To God’s Glory Alone. Please let the office know if you would like to participate so we can have enough resources for everyone. Come and learn more about these statements that form the basis of our understanding of what it means to be the Church of Jesus Christ in the Reformed Tradition. If you wish to study at home, resources will be provided for you.

FEBRUARY 14 IS HAVE A HEART DAY! The Presbyterian Church in Canada is inviting us to be a part of something special. February 14th has been designated as “Have a Heart Day” in support of Canada’s Indigenous children. We are invited to send Valentine’s Day cards to our local Member of Parliament to encourage the provision of resources for the health, education and well-being of children in Indigenous communities. Next Sunday, February 11th, you will find Valentine’s Day cards created by our Columbakids Co-ordinator for us to sign and send to MP Neil Ellis. The children of our congregation will be collecting the cards, along with their own creations, and presenting them in worship for a special prayer before they are sent. These cards are not meant to be political statements, but a recognition of the needs of Indigenous children in our nation. Last year over 6500 cards were sent to elected officials across the country. We look forward to making a difference as our nation supports vulnerable children.
