Late September News 2015

Meals on Wheels: needs volunteers for the 5 Thursdays in October. If you would like to help, please sign the schedule in the Narthex or contact Marion Grebby at 613-966-7983.

What is your favourite hymn? During our Thanksgiving Sunday service on Oct. 11th we will be singing some of the hymns that have helped to shape us in our faith. You are invited to submit your favourite from the Book of Praise with a note about why you are thankful for that hymn. Forms are available in the narthex. Please make your submissions by Oct. 4th. We look forward to singing your special hymns with you!

We all have things for which we are thankful. God is generous with blessings, and it is a privilege to offer our gratitude in worship. You are invited to give thanks for your life’s blessings during the Thanksgiving Sunday service on Oct. 11th. Please take a “Thanks-Offering” slip from the narthex and write what you are thankful for. Slips will be available on Sept 27th, Oct. 4th and 11th. There will be an opportunity for you to give your personal thanks to God when these papers are collected and presented as a special offering during the Oct. 11th service. Remember your blessings, and give thanks as we worship on Thanksgiving Sunday.

Week of August 9-15

There will not be any PROJECTION SCREEN during the service on August 9th. We are still looking for people who would like to share their gifts. Maybe you’d like to volunteer to learn how to run the projector or the sound system in the future so that the screen may be used every week in the future. The projection and sound system are an important addition to church services for a number of reasons including: the inclusion of transmedia aspects to augment the service, accessibility for those with visual, audio, and physical impairments, recorded services for individuals unable to attend service, and ease of sharing photo/video memories/visual examples to the congregation. Click HERE for more info about sharing your gifts, or contact the office.

We would like to thank all who sent cards, phoned, and prayed for Gary’s speedy recovery after his recent heart attack. Your kindness and thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. -Gary and Jane.
